Mentom Payments Chief Operating Officer Dave Wilson will join NMI’s “More From Every Merchant: A Partner Panel on Business Capital” at NMI University during WSAA 2026. The panel begins Tuesday, September 15, at 2:30 p.m. Pacific in the Santa Rosa Ballroom at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California.

The discussion will examine how payments providers can make access to business financing part of the merchant relationship they already manage. Dave will bring Mentom’s experience introducing Business Capital through Merchant Central and an operating perspective on what acquirers and ISOs should evaluate before extending the service to their portfolios.

Registration is hosted by NMI. Review the organizer’s registration information for attendance requirements and any schedule changes.

Why this matters to the acquiring relationship

A merchant’s next stage of growth may depend on purchasing inventory, replacing equipment, or adding capacity. When a payments partner can help an eligible merchant access financing through a familiar platform, that relationship becomes useful in another part of running the business.

For acquirers and ISOs, the opportunity extends beyond an additional service. Capital deployed productively can support merchant activity that may generate more processing volume and deepen the relationship with the payments provider. Those outcomes depend on the merchant’s business, use of funds, and continued processing relationship.

The panel will explore the operating model behind that opportunity: how the financing partnership works, where lending decisions sit, what the merchant experiences, and how partners can support adoption without building their own lending operation.

The conversation

Moderated by NMI’s Victoria Huber, the panel brings together Dave Wilson of Mentom Payments, Neal Zeleznak of NMI, Neville Le Roux of Parafin, and Brad Davidson of Cygnus Payments.

Topics will include:

  • Why Business Capital became part of Merchant Central and how the NMI and Parafin partnership works.
  • What payments partners evaluate before introducing financing to their merchant portfolios.
  • How the merchant experience can make capital access a useful extension of payments.
  • Where embedded lending may fit in the acquiring business over the coming years.
